Hanson on January 5, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase I bought this for a 30.06 and a 30-30 expecting to have to take the scopes off. I'm actually able to leave both scopes on (and a bipod on the .06), as well as carry my .40, glasses, muffs, a cleaning kit, extra magazines, lots and lots of ammo, and still have room to spare. The stitching is pretty good and the zippers are heavy duty. The handles look good and the backpack straps are surprisingly comfortable. It does have two d-rings on the bottom that could be used for a shoulder strap, but they're plastic. Easy swap out for metal rings/clasps of some sort. The guns hold in securely with lots of options for extra tie downs. Socks are still a good idea. All in all, this seems to be a great case for the price and will make a great range bag and protect the rifles for storage which is what I wanted. And, no, I don't think the average person seeing this would automatically think “gun case”, for whatever that's worth.

Edit, 7-31-12: I have now had this case for over a year and a half and it is still going strong. I still keep my scoped 30's in there, plus accessories, and this case has kept everything safe, clean, and secure. I have experienced no rubbing, marring, or any other problems. All I use is an oil rag between the two rifles to protect them (though socks would be better.) With all the attachment points, I still have a soft-cased cleaning kit, collapsible ear muffs, and a pair of shooing glasses locked down in this bag. I'll try to get some pics soon. Seriously, this is the only option out there for this kind of stowage with this kind of price. Be sure to keep something in between the rifles to protect them, and utilize the multiple lashing options. It has phenomenal stitching that has held up well for my uses (in and out of the suv at the range and at home) and I would not hesitate to buy another one. 1 Comment Was this review helpful to you? One of them collapses to around 33“ while the other measures 42.5” in overall length (with a very heavy barrel). I was quite concerned while ordering this case (as the dimension states 42“ in length), and I was taking a shot in the dark with the longer rifle fitting. As you can probably guess from my rating, IT FIT! The 2.5” WIDTH provides ample room - Both the rifles have decent size optics.

The zippers are not YKK and they are the only concern i have. Super pleased with the purchase and the generous spacing of the case. The built in pistol and clip holsters are awesome too. I am going to the range this weekend and now I am just bringing one case. 1 Comment Was this review helpful to you? Yes No 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful Great case, great price. By M Bulldawg on August 26, 2011 Amazon Verified Purchase It is not a hardside case, and not billed as such. This is an awesome, well-padded, well-made case that is a heck of a bang for the buck. I was able to put a Ruger 556 (with three mags, foregrip/bipod/tac light, and a Trijicon ACOG w/ reflex) and a Benelli Super 90 in the main case. Got a Beretta 92 and Glock 26 with 2 extra mags each in the smaller section, along with and extra reflex site. There was no bulging and contents are protected well. I doubt I would ever need to carry all this together, but it was nice to see I could. Comment Was this review helpful to you? I have a Ruger 10/22 and a Ruger mini-14 and they barely fit without contacting each other because of the velcro strap positioning inside the case.

Then I purchased a red-dot sight for the 10/22 it is now ok for storage but I wouldn't place it in the car and drive anywhere for fear of damage. (tried to fit my 12ga 870 tactical in there with the 10/22 still didn't work)

I now keep the mini-14 only in the case with a scope attached which for the price is fine. It holds all my 30 round mags and I still keep the 10/22 BX-25 mags in it also.

So yes it's a nice case but the velcro retainers inside the case are placed in such a way that it only works to safely carry one rifle.
